The 5 Essentials of Meditation

  1. Thoughts are ok
  2. Be kind to yourself
  3. Don’t try too hard
  4. Favour a beginner’s mind – no expectations
  5. DON’T GIVE UP – STICK WITH IT

And remember – it is everyone’s birth right to meditate.

As Bob Marley sings in Redemption Song:
“Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery, none but ourselves can free our minds.”

Meditation has its origins in the yoga tradition. The word yoga means to “yoke” or to join. It is a practice where you join your awareness to a particular focus. The practice quietens the mind, settles the nervous system and trains the brain to be more focused, engaged and less reactive.

To experience some of the many physical, mental, psychological and spiritual benefits, we must remember meditation is a practice so the discipline to practice is paramount.

"Whether it's walking up a hill or sitting in silent meditation together I feel her genuineness & peaceful presence. There's always something new to learn from her words & she urges you to be kind to yourself in all that you do."
